I hate Icthyornis and they keep the skies clear. Species X are there to clean up annoyances. Make sure you put Stone Foundations down wherever you wanna block respawns (such as you can see I did under the gates) to ensure a rock doesn't spawn and create a natural ramp over. Unfortunately Metal Spikes are only considered "Stone" so the biggest danger is Alpha Raptors who will chew through them and can break through. You have to put the spikes on the inside or bigger dinos will use them to ramp up and over. After that you can plug the gap with Spikes. Set high enough they will block any big dino from getting through (3+). Pillars/Spikes idea I 100% took from Nooblets. This creates a very organic design and preserves the home bonus (as you always have walls nearby). This is pretty much how I build all my bases now, I start with one centralized room then expand outward from there. Makes things very organized because you can have a cooking wing, production wing, etc with centralized storage. So you can see the middle of the main building is a big hexagon then I have "wings" that build straight off into rectangles/squares off of the sides of it.
